Also, pre-season basketball is upon us. Sportsbooks do a terrible job in linemaking for pre-season. In many ways, its not a priority since they get very little handle compared to football and baseball.

However, if you are willing to scour local media outlets and find tidbits on player rotations, motivation and coaching strategies, it can be profitable.

Here is what I look for during pre-season:

• Home underdog moneylines(especially teams that were in the bottom tier of the league the previous season. Those teams will tend to play their starters a bit more, in order to get them reps and get some wins to set the tone for the season.
• Games with a total that resemble a regular season line(Sportsbooks are not taking into consideration that starters will not be playing their regular minutes). So, assessing the strength of the bench and coaches style of play will be key.

Over the course of the month of October we will have a few pre-season plays. But are very much looking forward to the start of the season.
