NBA Breakdowns Below:

New Orleans vs Brooklyn

The Nets will be missing two of their best shooters. Both Harris and Curry are ruled out. This game is bigger than just the season opener for the Pelicans. The Pels hae lost 7 straight games to the Nets. With Zion, Ingram and McCollum, the Pels should be able to win this game against a short-handed Nets team.

Pick: New Orleans +2.5, ml (+120) and over Team Total

Atlanta vs Houston

One of the things I focus on when breaking down NBA pre-season games is identifying stlye and pace of play. Over the years I found to be highly profitable as line makers Β are using prior numbers and data to set lines for opening week. It takes them a few games before they catch up.

And tonight we are getting a bargain on the Rockets/Hawks total. Combined these two teams went 6-2 o/u in the pre-season. Both teams will be looking to run,run and run all game long. Atlanta in partcular will look to unveil their new look duo in Young/Murray. Houston has a squad of young players who are offensively talented, but lack the effort or care to play any defense. This game will have a high volume of three point attempts. Last season the two h2h meetings went over 240+ and this one should aswell.

Pick: Over 233.5 over 120 first half, over 60 first quarter

Dallas/Phoenix

I absolutely love "playoff revenge" angles. This year thus far in the NFL its gone 2-1 ATS and SU. And over the years has been a money maker in the NBA. And tonight we go back to the scene of the crime.

In the playoffs, the #1 seeded Suns were embarassed by the Mavs, winning games 6/7 by a combined 59 points. Losing game 7 at home by 32 points has left Phoenix seething all summer. And now they get their revenge the first game. I think this will be a beat down. In addition, Phoenix has beaten Dallas 9 straight regular season games (6-3 ATS). Dallas has not beaten Phoenix in the regular season since November 2019!

Pick: Phoenix -4.5, -10.5 (+195) and Phoenix over Team Total 111.5
